The incident took place during the early morning hours of Saturday, Feb. 11 at the Center Street Social in Shelton.

Officers responded to the club after receiving a call for shots fired when the business was closing and a fight erupted between several men, said Det. Richard Bango, of the Shelton Police.

Four gunshots were fired during the commotion. No one was injured during the incident and all involved fled before the police arrived, Bango said.

Bango said an investigation by Shelton detectives revealed that New Haven County resident Roberto Cales of Seymour was the person responsible for firing the gun during the fight.

On Saturday, Feb. 18, Cales was arrested and charged with illegal discharge of a firearm, reckless endangerment, and criminal possession of a firearm by a felon.

Cales, who was released after posting a $200,000 bond, is scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday, Feb. 21.
